Color lithograph: Facade of the pronaos of the temple of Edfu

Admire the façade of the pronaos of the Temple of Edfu in this captivating reproduction by David Roberts. This drawing highlights the impressive colonnade surrounding the pronaos, where priests circulated sheltered from the scorching Egyptian sun. Today, a simple weaver works beneath the shade of this ancient monument, whose majesty and history remain unchanged for millennia.

The temples of Edfu are among the best-preserved in the Nile Valley, offering an unparalleled glimpse of Egyptian architectural refinement. This temple is distinguished by its sheer beauty and impressive regularity. This reproduction reflects not only the grandeur of the building, but also its visual and historical impact. Perfect for lovers of archaeology and ancient history, this work will bring a touch of elegance and grandeur to your space, while celebrating Egypt's exceptional architectural heritage.

Reproduction of an engraving of a drawing by David Roberts (1796-1864) made during his three-month journey from Alexandria to the temple of Abu Simbel in Nubia, a journey of more than fifteen hundred kilometers.

His drawings were already the subject of considerable success during his lifetime, in particular those published between 1846 and 1849 in the form of three volumes, published in London by FG Moon and entitled Egypt and Nubia, made from the drawings and sketches made during this trip to the banks of the Nile during the winter of 1838-1839, and lithographed by Louis Haghe.
