"Yanagishima Island" (original title: 柳しま) is a woodblock print by the Japanese painter and illustrator Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) produced in April 1857.
Yanagishima Island ("Willow Island"), located northeast of Edo along the Sumida River, is accessible via the convex Yanagibashi Bridge. Opposite is the well-lit Hashimotoya Restaurant, next to the distinctive red pavilion of Nichiren Hōshōji Temple, famous for its image of the bodhisattva Myōken. The great painter Katsushika Hokusai was particularly devoted to this temple. A pier provides access to the temple by river, and the silhouette of Mount Tsukuba can be seen in the mist.
