It inhabits the woods near Kanala, where it reaches an altitude of 800 meters above sea level, Mount Arago, Mount Nekou and Ouin Island. It is a beautiful species, distinguished by the reddish color of its young fronds. Later these fronds become dark green, and the petioles varnished brown. The habit of this beautiful plant is most vigorous. Introduced into European cultivation by Mr. Linden, it often bears in collections the name of its introducer: Kentia Lindeni .
