Color lithograph: The island of Philae at sunset

Admire this splendid engraving of Philae Island at sunset, one of the most beautiful sights on the Nile. Nestled among the towering rocks above the first cataract, Philae Island reveals itself with unparalleled beauty, accentuated by its picturesque temples and lush vegetation. After the tumult and dangers of the cataracts, the island reveals itself as a haven of peace and serenity.

This artwork captures the island in the magic of twilight, when the last rays of the Egyptian sun illuminate the ruins of the Pharaoh's Temple, transforming the scene into a fairytale landscape. Perfect for lovers of exotic landscapes and historical photographs, this print will bring a touch of mystery and splendor to your home, while celebrating the harmony between nature and ancient architecture.

Reproduction of an engraving of a drawing by David Roberts (1796-1864) made during his three-month journey from Alexandria to the temple of Abu Simbel in Nubia, a journey of more than fifteen hundred kilometers.

His drawings were already the subject of considerable success during his lifetime, in particular those published between 1846 and 1849 in the form of three volumes, published in London by FG Moon and entitled Egypt and Nubia, made from the drawings and sketches made during this trip to the banks of the Nile during the winter of 1838-1839, and lithographed by Louis Haghe.
