"Nihonbashi Bridge: Clearing after the Snow" (original title: 日本橋雪晴) is a woodblock print by the Japanese painter and illustrator Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) produced in May 1856.
Hiroshige presents a vast perspective that stretches into the distance, with various natural and architectural elements as well as small silhouettes of people going about their daily lives.
At the center of the image is Nihonbashi Bridge, one of the largest and most iconic bridges in the city, built in 1603, serving as a reference point for measuring distances across the country.
In the background, we can see the Imperial Palace and, in the distance, Mount Fuji. The bokashi effect is evident in the gradation of the river's different shades of blue.
