"Nihonbashi and Edobashi Bridges" (original title: 日本橋江戸ばし) is a woodblock print by the Japanese painter and illustrator Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) produced in December 1857.
In a curious composition, the landscape is glimpsed through the beams of a bridge in close-up, with a pillar dominating the left side and a basket of tuna on the right, carried by an unseen person, positioned in the position of the viewer. Nihonbashi Bridge ("Japan Bridge" or "Rising Sun Bridge") is depicted in the foreground, while Edobashi Bridge ("Edo Bridge") is in the background. The red disc of the sun rises over the horizon, marking the introduction of the summer series, in contrast to the first spring print.
